Remington Model 11; Produced during WWII for
the US Army Air Force for training aerial gunners. 12 gauge with 26”improved
cylinder. This gun is in excellent condition (98%) with only a few handling
marks and slight wear on sharp corners. The top of the action is marked
“US –with Ordnance Flaming Bomb- Military Finish”. The top of the barrel
is marked “for 2 3/4 inch or shorter shells” and “Imp cyl”. Stock has original
Remington hard rubber buttplate. This gun has been part of my Remington
collection for years. My father bought it out of surplus when Camp Fannin
closed in 1947. These are rare because the Government disposed of the bulk
of them in a deal with Ithaca to take all the remaining model 11 guns in
trade as part of a contract for Ithacas. This one escaped because it was
being used as a guard gun for POWs at Camp Fannin near Tyler, TX.
